Promoting empowerment and access for all: lessons from Disabled People’s Organisations

HIS – Mourine (42)

Mourine, who is blind, is an active member of a Disabled People’s Organisation supported by CBM in Cameroon. She credits the group not only with transforming her life but also to changing attitudes in her community. “Before, you could hardly find a person with disability even coming out of the house, but now, they come out, they participate in social activities, they belong to groups, they are able to contribute in social life, even in politics”.
